One sunny morning in a little village, a boy named Ezra woke up very excited.
'Mama, is today the day?' he asked. 'Yes!' she smiled. 'We're going to hear Jesus teach!'
Mama packed a small lunch into Ezra's basket. Five little barley loaves and two small fish.
'It's not much,' Mama said gently, 'but it's made with love.'
Ezra held his basket tight. 'Let's go, Mama!' he cheered.
The path was busy! Families from everywhere were walking to hear Jesus.
Ezra's eyes went wide. He had never seen so many people in his whole life!

On a big green hillside by the shimmering sea, thousands of people sat on the grass.
Ezra and Mama found a spot on the soft grass and sat down together.
Then Jesus began to speak. His voice was warm and kind, like a gentle hug.
He told stories about love, kindness, and how much God cares for everyone.
Everyone listened. Mamas and papas, grandmas and grandpas, boys and girls — all of them.

The hours passed like minutes. Nobody wanted to leave.
But then the sun began to dip low. The sky turned orange and gold.
GRUMBLE. Ezra heard tummy rumbles all around him. Everyone was getting hungry!
'We have a big problem,' Andrew whispered to the other disciples. 'All these people need to eat!'
'Even if we had lots of money, we couldn't buy enough food for everyone!'
'Should we send everyone home?' the disciples asked. But Jesus just smiled.

'You don't need to send them away,' Jesus said gently. 'You give them something to eat.'
Andrew looked around. Five thousand people! Where could they find enough food?
'Does anyone have any food?' Andrew called out. People shook their heads.
Ezra looked down at his little basket. Five small loaves. Two tiny fish. That was all.
'It's so small,' Ezra thought. 'Could this really help anyone?'
Mama put her hand on his shoulder. 'Even small things can make a big difference, Ezra.'

Ezra took a deep breath. He stood up and walked toward Jesus, basket in hand.
'Excuse me,' Ezra said shyly. 'I have some food. It's not much, but...'
Andrew looked at the tiny lunch. He looked at the huge crowd. 'Five loaves and two fish? For five thousand people?'
But Jesus said, 'Bring it to me.' His eyes sparkled with a secret smile.
Jesus held up the five little loaves. He looked up to heaven and gave thanks.
'Thank you, Father,' Jesus prayed, 'for this gift.' Then he broke the bread.

And something amazing happened. The bread kept coming! More and more and more!
The disciples carried baskets through the crowd. Bread and fish for everyone!
Every single person had enough to eat. Mamas, papas, grandmas, and every child!
Ezra sat with Mama, munching happily. 'Can you believe it, Mama?' he laughed.
When everyone was full — every single person — Jesus said, 'Now gather what's left.'

The disciples gathered the leftovers. One basket. Two. Three... TWELVE baskets full!
More food was left over than what Ezra started with! His little lunch fed everyone!
Jesus knelt down to Ezra. 'Thank you for sharing,' he said. 'Your small gift did something very big today.'
As the stars came out, Ezra and Mama walked home. Ezra's heart was so full.
'Mama,' Ezra whispered at bedtime, 'even something small can be amazing when you share it.' Mama smiled. 'That's exactly right, my love.'
